About Us

Bill Roach retired from a 30+ year career in the Iowa Attorney General’s office to help people find more health and fitness in their lives.  

 

He works as an NASM-certified personal trainer (CPT) and corrective exercise specialist (CES) at the Des Moines YMCA Healthy Living Center.  The HLC is a state-of-the-art medically integrated wellness facility providing individual and group exercise opportunities to people with various medical conditions.

 

A former long distance racing cyclist, Bill is also lead cycling instructor for the Des Moines YMCA.  He has the highest level of certification from the Spinning organization and also writes nationally published articles on indoor cycling for the Indoor Cycling Association.

CYCLING EXPERIENCE:

∙ 60,000+ miles training / racing in long-distance bicycle races, typically racing approximately 300 miles in one day. 

∙ Support rider to Dr. Bob Breedlove in long distance bicycle races including breaking the world record crossing the U.S. twice  (23 days). 

∙ Participant at Betsy King National Bike Racing Training Facility, Gainesville, Florida.  

∙ Winner of state and national awards for legislative advocacy on behalf of Iowa bicyclists.

∙ Former President, the League of Iowa Bicyclists and the Des Moines Cycle Club.
